Itauguá's women are famous for their unique weaving of multicolored ñandutí (spiderweb lace). These exquisite pieces range in size from doilies to bedspreads. Smaller ones cost a few dollars but larger ones are upward of 250,000G. In July the town celebrates its annual Festival de Ñandutí.
La Itaugueña buses leave approximately hourly from just outside the bus terminal in Asunción, a distance of 32km.
