This community-run nature reserve protects a swath of forest on the upper Río Mayo that is home to monkeys and a wide variety of birds, frogs and butterflies. The tourism cooperative offers day tours that include breakfast, lunch and a boat trip. To get here, take a colectivo from in front of the Universidad Cesar Vallejo to Puerto La Boca. The guides will pick you up from here in a boat. Reservations are essential.
