Eight miles into a hike to the summit of Half Dome, Josh McNair finally reached the base of the cables section of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. This 400 feet of cables loosely attached to the rock face provides an almost insane call to the adventurer, beckoning the accomplishment that is making it to the top (only 400 passes are allowed per day during the summer months). This picture was all the more amazing because of the people you can see on the cables and the hiker just standing and staring at its sheer beauty. It is one of Josh’s favourite pictures he has ever taken and a crazy example of humanity’s search for accomplishment and its interaction with nature.
