When an airline the caliber of Emirates Airlines associates itself with an event one can be sure that is a premier event that has been around for years, if not decades. Now while the airline does associate itself with many such events, the airline also treads the path into the woods by constantly reinventing its sponsorship partners so that they are not only ones that have been around forever, but also those who hold great promise for the future. The 'Your Film Festival' is one such example where Emirates Airlines along with YouTube came to host the radical filmmakers of the festival while they were in Dubai.
The 10 finalists of the online film festival were chosen from among 15000 entries from all over the globe and also included two filmmakers from the Middle East, from the countries of Lebanon and Egypt. On their way to the popular Film Festival in Venice, the finalists stopped over at Dubai and even held a private screening of their films there. The films and their makers included 'El General' by Diego Pino Zamora from Bolivia, 'The Guilt' by David Victori Blaya from Spain, 'North Atlantic' by Bernardo Nascimento from the United Kingdom, 'The Drought' by Kevin Slack from the United States of America, 'Super Full' by Niam Itani from Lebanon, 'Cine Rincao' by Fernando Grostein Andrade and Fernanda Fernandes from Brazil, 'Scruples' by Adrian Powers from Australia, 'Bat Eyes' by Damien Power again from Australia, 'This Time' by Ramy El-Gabry from Egypt, and '88:88' by Joey Ciccoline, the second representative from the United States of America.
Christopher Galanto, the Senior Vice President of Advertising, Emirates Airlines, graced the event and welcomed the upcoming filmmakers to the amazing city of Dubai. The event was hailed by him as the coming together of talent from various parts of the globe and pointed towards a future where every initiative will be taken from a global perspective. The pool of talent that the filmmakers represented came from different countries reflecting different cultures yet the goal to express themselves and their ideas and creativity through their films was something that was common.
The event also helped Emirates Airlines in highlighting the city of Dubai as a filmmaker's paradise with every facet of the city presenting a different hue. The airline's representative Mr. Galanto pointed out to the varied landscape of the city and urged filmmakers to explore the region as a perfect setting for future projects. The young talents stayed in the city for three days all the time being well take care of by the representatives of Emirates Airlines. During their stint they visited several events that were organized in their honor.
Doing their bit in every sphere, Emirates Airlines is truly a global brand today.
