Australia has long been considered one of the prime destinations for vacationers all over the world. Whether you fancy hiking trails, challenging waves, pristine beaches, checking out Thor‘s childhood home, or simply taking in a city’s sights, the land down under always has something for everyone.
The country recognizes its promising potential for international tourism. A DialAFlight blog article reports that the country launched a campaign earlier this year with the goal of increasing tourist volume by taking advantage of various social media channels. Through this, Australia wishes to promote its natural and man-made wonders to an increasingly tech-savvy online community.
This campaign will do wonders for the tourist trade to skyrocket in the coming years, and places which don’t often receive international coverage might just get the promotion they deserve. For instance, Australia is home to many islands that haven’t played hosts to foreign tourists yet. With the country’s online push, Kangaroo Island’s pristine beauty and King Island’s varied wildlife could attract droves in no time.
As for those who prefer a bit more hometown vibe, the small community of Margaret River could become the next Mecca for wine connoisseurs. Aside from the regular wine tours, there are also many excellent golf courses, as well as the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, which boasts some of Australia’s best natural, undeveloped scenery.
Art aficionados will also get a kick out of the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart. The museum is the largest place to house private collections in the southern hemisphere, with the artwork value totaling more than $100 million.
Australia has so much more in store for the dedicated wanderlust. With the help of an expanded tourism campaign, more people should be able to discover the country’s less-frequented wonders.
