Marie Nadal-Sharma is the Founder and Director of Them You and Me Ltd., and is constantly looking for travel inspirations and for new destinations, while offering the best luxury travel experiences and hidden treasures to her clients.
What is it that you do exactly?
There are two sides to the business.
My team and I offer professional representation and consulting services to luxury travel brands, looking to enhance their business visibility in the Asia-Pacific region through targeted and personalized marketing strategies, with a strong focus on social media and digital marketing.
We also assist discerning travelers seeking exclusivity, and memorable, experiential journeys. We craft bespoke and exclusive itineraries unique to their preferences. My French heritage makes me a luxury travel expert for France. We lead them across France for gourmet tours in Provence, wine tours in Bordeaux and Burgundy, or shopping in Paris with the assistance of a personal shopper, to name a few. Beyond France, travelers may savour personalized music and cultural tours across Europe, luxury yacht charters around the world, stays in private villas/islands, and experiential journeys to Japan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Antarctica and other exotic destinations. They can indulge in luxurious lifetime experiences while on honeymoon or other special occasions, like family holidays.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
Travelling and meeting people, making a difference and helping prejudices disappear. I feel extremely lucky to have travelled to so many places, met people from different backgrounds, countries and mindsets, and through these experiences, having great stories to tell.
I enjoy the exploring, the discovering and the learning that travel inevitably imparts, and find immense satisfaction in leading others to similar, exceptional experiences. I just love how much I have learned along the way and feel there is still so much to absorb and discover.
This is what I wish other travelers to experience, hence our tailor made experiential journeys.
What would you say are the 3 best places you’ve ever stayed?
A ryokan in Kyoto, thanks to a dear friend of mine. It was a humble and spiritual experience, and Japan was truly love at first sight!
The Lake Palace in Udaipur when I first travelled to India.
A villa in Chianti owned by a friend of mine, with a vineyard, olive trees, fresh parmigiano and home-made tiramisu. La Dolce Vita everyone hopes to experience once in a lifetime.
What’s been your most memorable dining experience to date?
That would have to be kaiseki in Tokyo, a secret place, in a narrow alley, with a very Tokyo ambiance. Dinner comprised of 6 dishes with rice and miso soup! The experience was surreal and I feel blessed that my friends took me there.
Have you rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous, either through your work or your travels?
I remember sitting close to Claire Danes at a Calvin Klein Fashion Show, years ago when I used to live/work in New York City. I met so many people everywhere, all the time. I used to work in luxury hotels so it was normal to check-in a celebrity or greet them with a cheery good morning in the lobby. Ive also met Michael Kors in Paris and Debbie Allen in New York.
What currently ranks highest on your travel wish list?
Niseko, for skiing during the winter season, and Sri Lanka. Soon, hopefully…
Thank you for taking part in our interview, Marie. I had some amazing dining experiences myself in Tokyo myself last year – it’s home to more Michelin stars than Paris nowadays, I believe!
