On A Luxury Travel Blog, I’ve already brought you a $1000 sundae, a $5000 burger and a $90,000 bottle of white wine, so now it’s the turn of New York’s most expensive cocktail. Created by the head mixologist at Duvet, the cocktail is called the Duvet Platinum Passion and has at its heart L’ésprit de Courvoisier (approx. $6,000/bottle), combined with the rarest, oldest and finest cognacs dating as far back as the day of Napoleon. Other ingredients include Ruinart Champagne and Brendan’s special syrup. It was introduced in February 2005 and – at $1500 a throw – only four have been purchased to date.
