The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have finally set off on their honeymoon and headed for the Seychelles, a chain of islands in the Indian Ocean. The couple reportedly landed at the international airport on Mahe at 7:20 am local time before going to an undisclosed island. This has been confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Seychelles’ Tourist Board.Palace officials are remaining tight-lipped on any speculation but one distinct possibility could be that they’ve returned to Desroches Island where they holidayed in 2007.
The Seychelles is no stranger to high profile honeymoons. Actress Salma Hayek and husband Francois-Henri Pinault honeymooned at North Island in 2009. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills and Liz Hurley and Arun Nayer all spent their honeymoons on the private Frgate Island.
There are many other possibilities including Denis Private Island, Bird Island Lodge, Alphonse Island Resort, Round Island andCousine Island to name just some.
