With a range of exciting new restaurant openings, hotel renovations and events taking place in Philadelphia this Summer, now is a great time to explore the hip and happening side to the City of Brotherly Love. Holidaymakers can head to Midtown Village to visit the brand new Pennsylvania 6 restaurant, stay-in-style at the newly renovated Loews Philadelphia Hotel or shop-till-you-drop at the new Yves Saint Laurent store in King of Prussia Mall, one of America’s largest shopping malls.
Serpico by Starr
Peter Serpico has teamed up with restaurateur Stephen Starr for one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the year, Serpico on the corner of 6th and South Street. With a diverse menu ranging from egg custard caviar to lamb ribs for two, paired with a sophisticatedly edgy ambiance Serpico is sure to be a new hot spot on South Street and be a great addition to the Starr Empire.
Loews Philadelphia Hotel
April marked the completion of a three-month, $14 million guest room renovation for this luxury property. All 581 guest rooms now offer increased Wi-Fi capabilities and larger work desk areas paired with leather ergonomic chairs. They also feature new wall coverings, draperies, duvet covers, lamps and cityscape artwork. New bold hues of black, white and red accentuate the original black and white marble located throughout the property. Additionally, the hotel converted existing space into 10 family-friendly parlour suites, each featuring a Murphy bed and connecting guest room.
Yves Saint Laurent Store
Having been voted ‘One of the Top 25 Cities for Shopping’ by Lucky Magazine, shop-aholics will be offered even more choice later this year with the opening of the high-end Yves Saint Laurent designer store in King of Prussia Mall. Shoppers will be able to browse YSL’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection of boho-chic dresses and floppy Stetson hats.
