Panthers Remain Champions
The 4th Edition of the Twitter Premier League took place after postponements on the 30th of May at The Campos Stadium in Lagos island. The competition had 6 male teams and 2 female teams in a game of knock outs, penalty shoot outs, and beautiful soccer played in a calm spirit of sportsmanship.
The Red Devils and The Guns were the first teams to leave at the Knock out stage. They were followed by The Blues and The Cubs (former champions) in the semi finals The Tsarinas and The Panthers (female teams) played and The Panthers emerged victors in this meet.
The finals was between The Saints and The Rebels. The match ended in a draw and after resolving an issue with goal keeper substitution, went ahead into penalties. Here, The Saints lost two goals, hitting the woodwork and everything seemed set for The Rebels to take the day.

A twist in this tale however is The Rebels lost two goals, one to the safe hands of The Saints goalie. The Saints went on to win the penalty shoot out and are current Twitter Premier League champions. One of the best comebacks in football.
We wish the Saints & Panthers the best of the season. See pictures below.
