TIME : 2016/2/24 11:57:47
Although Bengaluru’s vast, sprawling size and imposing skyline of glitzy high-rises may make it seem like an intimidating city to explore with the kids, there’s actually plenty of entertaining family-themed attractions situated both centrally and further afield, ranging from lush gardens to dazzling fun-centres.

Parks and gardens

Known as the Garden City of India thanks to its emerald array of public parks, Bengaluru can easily cater if you feel like an afternoon amble with the kids. Relax and unwind as they venture safely through green spaces rich with exotic flowers and trees.

Dating back to the 18th century, Lalbagh Park is an unbridled swathe of natural beauty drenched with vibrant flowers and soft green lawns, dotted with trees over a century old. This is an ideal place to bring the kids if you want to escape from the city’s bustle, and the aquarium and botanical garden are added attractions to seek out.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium

Bengaluru’s Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium provides a jaw-dropping light and sound show that tells of the creation of our solar system. You'll recline and marvel at the sight of shooting stars and spinning planets whirling across the smooth dome, and chart the dawn of the age of space exploration. What child could resist?

Thrilling theme parks

Central Bengaluru provides plenty of fantastic fun-centres for tiny tots and energetic teens alike, ranging from children’s live theatre to neon-lit bowling alleys. But if you’re looking for a day out that’s bound to entertain any age-range, head slightly out of the city centre.

Located 40 kilometres from central Bengaluru, Innovative Film City is a grand theme park that hosts wax museums, go-karting, mini-golf, and carousels. There’s also a white-knuckle roller coaster on site - India’s biggest - as well as a miniature water park and a "dinosaur enclosure". After a tiring day of exploring the sights and rides, grab a bite at one of the themed restaurants.
