Chinese Foods and Other Goods
Come enjoy a fun event. Wish your friends Happy New Year in Chinese (short lesson at bottom of page).
Celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Monkey with the Consul-General of China and friends and support a very worth cause.
Since its foundation in 1974 the Bali International Women's Association has contributed to the welfare of under-privileged people living in Bali with funds raised mainly from its annual BIWA Fair at the LotteMart near Sanur.
Now, with a focus on improving life opportunities for women and children, BIWA is delighted to partner with the Mandarin Centre and The Trans Resort Bali in supporting the Metta Mama & Maggha Foundation by celebrating the Chinese New Year 2016 with a second Grand Charity Chinese Fair at The Trans Resort in Kerobokan.
The Metta Mama & Maggha Foundation is one of only 2 organisations in Bali which care for orphaned babies.
Their vision is to provide a sanctuary that recognises the uniqueness of all babies in their care and values their individual worth regardless of their class or background.
Now in their second year, MM&MF currently provide a sanctuary for 7 babies entrusted into their care by the Department of Social Welfare in Bali.
There are many reasons how and why the babies are unable to be cared for by their parents. The Foundation is not judgmental but simply provides a loving and healthy environment for the babies whilst long-term plans are made for their future, which includes possible adoption.
Funds raised from the event will be donated directly to the Foundation to build an indoor playroom to support the physical and intellectual development of the babies in their care.
Come along and give your support to this great charity event. Enjoy the atmosphere, wish your Chinese friends
Then take home some lovely Chinese goodies from the Fair.
The Chinese New Year Market Event 2016 takes place Sunday 31st January 2016 from 10am - 5pm in The Trans Resort at the end of Jalan Sunset just before the T-junction with Jalan Kerobokan.
Dragon dances, Chinese performances, lantern making and red envelopes, but it's mostly about delicious Chinese food offered by leading Chinese chefs in Bali: Beijing duck, steam buns, dim sum with chopsticks.
BI WA the fun is taking place.
