Not so long ago I read an article about Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. It was interesting mainly because at last progress might be made to complete the buildings and statues within the park. The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is one of those places in Bali that, for some and me included, a one-time visit is enough but a must see.
According to the article the initiators of the project first promised the monument would be completed by 2005. But now, in the year 2011 only an estimated 15% of the statue and the park have been completed. And now the there is a high demand from the Balinese community around the area to have the main monuments completed.
Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is a great place to stopover on your way down to the bottom of the Bukit Peninsula. It’s great for kids and there are places where you can obtain food and a delightful restaurant overlooking the Bukit.
