Everyone that has visited Bali has, at one time or another, travelled up the mountains to Kintamani. The area there affords some spectacular views of Gunung Batur and Danau Batur and, on a good clear day the Bali Aga village of Trunyan can be seen. There are many roads leading northwards up to this spectacular area.
However, one of my favourite ways of getting to Kintamani is from the direction of Singaraja. This long, winding stretch of road takes you along the mountain top and eventually a slight descent to Kintamani. Along this road you are afforded stunning valley panoramas and, once you see the mountain top of Gununtg Batur, you will understand why this road is one of the best in Bali for natural and unspoilt views.
