What I have always found delightful about Bali is that whatever time of the year you visit there is always a festival of some kind. Most of these are religious ceremonies and temple festivals and although fascinating, none is better than the major festivals that occur during the year. If you are in Bali at the moment or arriving in the next few days, then you are just in time to join in on one of the great festival dates on the Bali Calendar.
The Nusa Dua Fiesta XIII 2009 starts this Saturday 17th and goes through until the 21st. It is five days of cultural performances, exhibitions food and parades and all to be found at or near the Bali Nusa Dua Complex. The complex hosted the event last year and it was a huge success and no doubt this year’s will be even better. What I found interesting last year was that it’s not just Bali-focused; there are performances and exhibitions from around the archipelago on show as well.
In this day and age when most people are concerned about global warming I was impressed to hear that theme for the Nusa Dua Fiesta XIII 2009 this year is “Green Tourism”.
