Earlier this morning an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck Bali with its epicentre apparently being off the coast of Nusa Dua. Up until now, there are at least seven people injured and several others taken to hospital. Fortunately, no deaths have been recorded as I write this. Panicked tourists and residents fled from their homes and hotels. No tsunami warning was issued and there were no immediate reports of major damage. Indonesia sits on the volcanic rim known as the ‘Ring of Fire’ and is prone to earthquakes on a regular basis.
More updates soon.
