Bali has a vast array of guest houses, hotels and resorts catering to all kinds of people. Seminyak has one hotel that has a definite tilt towards Christians, the Dhyana Pura Hotel.
Located on the beach with 125 rooms, the Dhyana Pura Hotel has the St Mikael Church in its grounds, which is used for wedding ceremonies for guests. Back in 2004 I did a review of the hotel, talking with sales manager Wida from Bali. Here’s what she told me.

Wida: The hotel was built in 1977
Baliblog: What is the size of the hotel grounds?
Wida: The hotel has 2.4 hectares and 25 meters of beach.
Baliblog: What is the style of the hotel?
Wida: The style of hotel is a Christian hotel under the Church of Bali. The Church of Bali has many schools of tourism, orphanage houses, an industrial company for farming and making furniture.
Baliblog: What makes this hotel unique?
Wida: It is a Christian hotel. That gives us a very family style service. We want the guests to feel like this is their second home. Most of the guests are repeaters.
Baliblog: How would you describe the layout of the hotel?
Wida: Its like a resort hotel because all the buildings are spread over a wide area with lush garden. We’re also on the beach. The guests can have a long walk along the garden.
Baliblog: What is the noise level like here.
Wida: You won’t hear any noise from the traffic in fact you will hear the birds singing every morning and the sound of the waves.
Baliblog: Since this is a Christian hotel are most of the staff Christian themselves.
Wida: Only 2 % of staff are Christian, everyone is welcome here.
Baliblog: If a guest was unaware that this was a Christian hotel how would they be able to tell?
Wida: Sometimes we do weddings and church meetings. We have a chapel here so we can handle services and also restaurant.
Baliblog: What is the selling point of this hotel?
Wida: The staff are great, the atmosphere is pleasant and it is quiet.
Baliblog: Who would this hotel would be good for?
Wida: This hotel would be good for retired people.
Baliblog: What kind of food does the restaurant serve?
Wida: We have a 24 hour restaurant that serves Indonesian, International and Chinese food.
Baliblog: What would you say to someone thinking of staying here?
Wida: Dhyana Pura Hotel is a family hotel is a paradise setting.
Dhyana Pura Hotel is owned by the Protestant Christian Church in Bali which provides a peaceful and comfortable place for a family vacation.
Location:
The hotel is located on the beach in Seminyak on the southern peninsula of Bali. Six miles from Denpasar, the capital city of Bali and only 15 minutes by car from the International airport in Tuban.
Rooms:
The hotel has 26 Bungalows designed to reflect traditional Balinese architecture. All rooms are A/C and are surrounded by lush gardens. There are also 96 rooms, 2 suites and 1 Superior equipped with modern facilities, such as private bathroom, balcony, A/C, refrigerator, music channels, telephone and color TV.

Eden Garden Restaurant is located over looking the gardens and swimming pool. The restaurant serves a selection of Western, Chinese and Indonesian cuisine with personalized service.
