Kuta Beach is a little stinky right now. On Sunday Ika and I took Jevon to the windblown Blue Ocean beach at the end of Jl. Double Six. There’s a kid’s playground there and its good for him to meet new children. While there we noticed the strong smell coming from the water.
Ika’s sister told us that Kuta beach stinks, while today Bali Discovery reports the culprit was mysterious red globs. A special micro-organic compound has been sprayed on Kuta Beach to help the globs decompose. They should use Coca Cola. In the US the cops sometimes carry it to clean up an accident / murder site, the acid eats anything you put in its path.
Global warning combined with increased water pollution is no doubt damaging the marine life, so its not surprising that once in a while the ocean sends us a message. Riding by today the smell on Kuta Beach was not offensive, so hopefully things will be better soon.
