Bali is a tourist destination, so the business hours are skewed as a result of the need to cater to tourists. Banks are open from 8am / 9am to 2pm /3.30pm, depending on the bank, closed Saturday generally. Restaurants are often open from 10am-11pm or later, with some opening at 7.30 am for breakfast and staying open till late. The fusion of restaurants and lounge bars blurs the line when places close. Bali has a selection of 24 hour businesses which include:
Air Conditioning, Cafes, Clinics, Drug Stores, Florists, Internet Services, Mini Markets, Money
Changers, Car Rental, Petrol Stations, Restaurants, Supermarkets, Wartels, Passenger Transport and Travel Agencies.
Matahari Department Store in Kuta Square is open daily from 9am-11pm. Bintang supermarket in Seminyak is open from 9am-10pm daily. Discovery Shopping Mall in Tuban is open from 9am to 11pm. In areas such as Kuta and Sanur, clothing and jewelry shops open between 9am-10am and close around 9pm-10pm, depending on the shop.
Handicraft shops tend to open when the tourists wake up, which in Kuta, can be late. They stay open till maybe 10pm. It is handy to note a few places that are 24 hours, just in case you need a late night service. Restaurants in the Kuta area that stay open 24 hours include Double D on Jl. Legian, next to Star Surf and ESC, on Jl. Legian across from Poppies II.
