Perama Bus is the private bus line that serves Bali. Visitors to Bali usually make their first contact with Perama, at the small office located at the bottom of Jl. Legian in Kuta. What Perama offers, is a comfortable bus, that has a fixed timetable and set routes. This contrasts with local bemo buses, which have no timetable, no ticketing and a haphazard network of routes, that make getting from Kuta to Lovina a chore. Devin wanted to go to Lombok, so last night we got online and checked out the schedule (another handy facility). The morning bus for Lombok leaves at 10am, so took him down to the office, arriving 9.30am. The staff were super helpful, explaining all the options and selling him a ticket on the spot. Devin’s bus arrived soon after and he was on his way, via Sanur and Padangbai.
Perama goes to the main tourist destinations in Bali, including Kuta, Sanur, Ubud, Lovina, Padangbai, Candi Dasa, Tirtaganga, Amed, Tulamben. It all goes to Lombok, Sumbawa and Komodo. The cool thing for Devin is instead of having to take the slow boat to Lombok, then driving from the port of Lember, up to Bangsal, then having to take a local boat to the Gili’s, Perama has its own boat. This will take him directly to Gili Trawangan, followed by the other 2 islands. Coming back he’ll have go go via Lember, but can delay his route in any of the stop off points. If he decides to stay in Padangai, Ubud, Sanur etc. for a couple of days, he can. The staff told us that Perama can also arrange to take him into central Lombok as he wants to explore the Tetebatu area.

Pick up service is available for 5,000rp. Surfboards are 10,000rp extra.
