Jevon is now 19 months old, and an active little package he is. I remember the first couple of days he spent at home, and also the time before he could roll over. I’d flip him over to keep him quiet, and he’d love it. Time flies when you have kids, and the other day Ika showed my something else Jevon had learned. While in Java, he was shown how to partake in the Muslim prayer ritual, Ika prompting him. After a minute of so he did his best art getting on his knees and praying to Allah! That’s more than his old man does.
Ika told me today he only needs 4 more letters to know the whole alphabet. He can count, but gets empat (4), mixed up with enam (6). With the Indonesian / Javanese language bombardment he gets at home, he’ll be outstripping me in no time. In fact he already knows Javanese terms for stuff I haven’t a clue about. Here’s a look at him at 6 months.
One benefit of an 18 month old to a 6 year old, is that he can tell us when he wants to go to the bathroom. He even wakes Ika up to tell her. Gone is the walker, in is the bicycle and any chance he gets to sit on my bike, he’s into it. Our gang is quite international, with a Spanish / Australian girl next door, a Japanese girl around the corner, a black kid around the other corner as well as the locals. All good on the kid front, and I recommend Bali as a great place for a birth.
