Circle K here in Bali stocks a variety of drinks including ‘energy drinks’. I’ll try almost anything, if it seems like a good idea, so this afternoon I picked one up before hitting the gym. While my friends from Oregon were here, I didn’t have time to workout (as well as not wanting to show Toby I could out lift him, and out drink him), so this was the first time in 3 weeks. My nasi campur lunch was digesting, so a little kick in the pants was in order. My thoughts turned to coffee, but in Circle K, bottle of M-150 drew my attention. For 3,000rp, 150ml of M-150 is yours. This drink is made in Thailand and sold marketed in Indonesia. The taste was extremely sweet raspberry, or some other artificially created flavour. It went down in 3 big gulps and did not seem to do anything to my state of awareness. Looking at the label, it says ‘there is a certain amount of energy in each bottle, you should drink 3 bottles everyday and use only before the expiration date.’
Ingredients include 800mg of taurin, 50mg of caffeine, 50mg of inositol, 20mg of niacin, 5mg of pantotenat and 5mg of vitamin B6. There’s other stuff in there too.
Arriving at the gym I felt the same as usual, my 30 minute workout was pretty normal. Don’t know what I was expecting for 3,000rp, but apart from my huge arms, bulging chest and tree trunk thighs, there’s absolutely no difference.
