Wet season in Bali means hot steamy days and nights, will the occassional downpour. Good thing about this is you don’t have bring a ton of warm clothes. If you pack one t-shirt too few, or need an extra pair of underwear, go down to Matahari department store on Kuta Square and pick one up, very cheaply.
Things to bring with you in the wet season include sandals / shoes that can get wet, sunscreen, a sunhat (preferably a straw hat), shorts. If you plans to go out exploring, with a daypack / backpack, make sure you stuff your gear inside a plastic sack, before putting it into the backpack (I’ve spent a night in a soaked sleeping bag in Alaska, that’s how I learned).
For walking around in Bali during the wet season, an umbrella, combined with shorts, light t-shirt and sandals, is the best option. Don’t bother with Goretex pants and jackets, you’ll melt. For riding a motorbike get a poncho, cheap and available at most supermarkets. If you are on an extended trip to Bali during the wet season, remember to air put your clothes thaqt are hanging
in your wardrobe. I’ve pulled stuff out that had turned green! Sunshine or simply washing the item gets ride of the fungus.
As mentioned before in other articles, sitting around in wet swimwear, or just sweaty clothing can lead to various type of rash. I’m not a doctor, but know its good practice to dry off
thoroughly, especially in places that ‘don’t see the daylight’.
