Looking around for Indonesian food this afternoon (Ocha’s Warung in closed for 2 weeks), I strolled down Jl. Legian to Ibu Ayu (mother Ayu). Ibu Ayu is a simple place that serves a selction of items including tempe, tahu (tofu), sapi rendang (beef in sauce), and other favourites.
Open to the street, it was hot in there today, the ceiling fan providing the only breeze. That didn’t stop me from ordering a teh panas (hot tea) and a nasi campur (mixed rice).
My bill was 8,000rp for the lot, which when combined with a dollop of fiery sambal, did the trick. Ibu Ayu is located on Jl. Legian, south of Jl. Double Six and is a good bet for lunch / cheap dinner. No alcohol served.
