“One of the best Aquariums” – 5 of 5 stars – Reviewed 6 February 2015 – Visited October 2014
Osaka Aquarium is probably one of the best I’ve ever visited. The whole complex is located in four floors – each showcasing species from different regions of world. The route starts from the top and you slowly walk around a winding ramp down to the ground floor. Osaka Aquarium has some really exotic species of fish in one of the largest fish tanks of the world.
Also in the aquarium are otters, penguins and seals. The scheduled feeding times of these animals can be found on their website in English.
An excellent educational experience for kids and adults alike. Don’t miss the giant spider crabs!!
A very well maintained complex. Friendly and helpful staff. English pamphlets available at the ticket counter. Wheelchair accessible.

TripAdvisor review:
“If you plan on spending some time in Osaka, please pay this Aquarium a visit. It was a couple of metro stations away from city center. The Aquarium is ginormous in size. Variety of aquatic species found. So fun and yet so relaxing at the same time. It’s for all ages. I find it took away some of the stress we had as tourists always on our feet and travelling from one place to another. We got to just enjoy this at our own pace and see another side of Japan. The huge aquarium in the middle of the building is many floors high, and the it was easy to navigate through.” – Trisha_Andrea from Canada
