Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was Walt Disney’s first animated star, appearing on screen before even Mickey Mouse. After a long absence, Oswald is back home with his Disney family and has made his official debut at Disney Parks. Just in time for the spring celebrations at the Tokyo Disney Resort, Oswald has found his own place to meet fans and make some new ones. In the Cape Cod section of American Waterfront at Tokyo DisneySea, he’s playing the role of a farmer greeting friends at his cute little produce stand, stocked with fresh eggs and flowers for the season.
Disney Tanabata Days, the traditional Japanese event also known as the Star Festival, will return to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea parks Jun 24 to Jul 7. At Tokyo DisneySea, guests can enjoy a Wishing Place at the New York area of American Waterfront where they can write wishes on Wishing Cards and then tie them onto Tanabata decorations. Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters will also dress in Tanabata-themed costumes themed to greet guests. Over at Tokyo Disneyland, guests can find a Wishing Place in the center of World Bazaar. Mickey and Minnie Mouse will ride on rickshaws along the parade route and can also be spotted in a “Tanabata Greeting” mini parade. In addition to the theme parks, the Disney Resort Line Monorail stations will also offer a Wishing Places and original Wishing Cards.
Tokyo Disneyland recently announced that a new version of Jungle Cruise – Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions, will debut at the park this fall. Featuring enhanced special effects and lighting, new original music, and a new “night-time” version that will offer guests a exciting night adventure in the jungle. Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions, will officially open at the park Sept. 8, 14
