The rabbit cafe in Harajuku, Tokyo, called Ra.a.g.f (stands for ‘rabbit and grow fat’) encourages cafe patrons to pet, play with, and feed the dozens of rabbits that ‘work’ at this small cafe. The bunnies take turns playing and spending time in their cages, with only a few running loose at any given time, although you can play with the ones in the cages as well.
The cafe’s interior space is pretty small – three tables, with floor seating for visitors, and they only allow 2-3 groups of people in at a time so it’s best to get there early and then try to book a time to come back if you can’t get in immediately. It is a 5 minute walk from Meiji-jingumae station and 8 minutes from Harajuku station.
A dish of greens and carrots for feeding the bunnies costs Y100, coffee and soft drinks are included in the cover charge, which is Y600 for the first 30 minutes or Y1000 for the first hour, plus Y500 for each additional 30 minutes.
Rabbit cafe is open from noon-7 pm Monday through Thursday and 11 am-7:30pm on the weekends. It is closed Fridays as well as the 3rd Thursday of every month.
