Urashima Dinner Theater is one of the popular restaurants on Kokusai-dori in Naha, Okinawa which gives visitors a chance to experience both traditional Okinawan cuisine and culture. It offers live music and dance performances with beautiful costumes in a show with about 10 different numbers. They showcase a range of Ryukuan styles, such as folk dances, religious dances, and the popular eisa drumming. Be sure to ask for one of the free fliers if you would like more information about the different dances.
Two of the folk dances famous at Urashima are the “Umi no Chinbora”, a dance about women gathering conch shells on the beach, and “Tanchama”, a fishermen’s dance from the tiny hamlet of Tancha near Onna Village.
Visitors can choose from an extensive menu which has both a la carte and course meals. The course meals range from 3,675 yen upward. Along with the Okinawan fare, there are Western and Japanese options. There is also a menu for children under 12.
The performance is from 7 to 8:30 pm. The doors open and meals are served from 6 pm to 11 pm.
