“Heichinrou” means “A place welcoming distinguished, good people.” First opened in 1884 in Yokohama in the Chinatown area, it is the oldest Chinese restaurant still operating in Japan. Over time it has opened multiple branches, and even has a line of bottled teas.
The restaurant is considered one of the finest examples of Cantonese cuisine It features luxurious meals using the finest ingredients, including seasonal dishes only offered for a short time. The restaurant has multiple dining areas for individuals and groups such as wedding parties. There is an excellent dim sum served which is one of the finest in Japan. Though expensive, eating at Heichinrou is a memorable experience well worth the cost.
