Amity Village in USJ is recognizable by the giant shark suspended from a wooden scaffolding in front of the JAWS ride. The ride is the main attraction in this theme area, which is decorated to look like a rustic harbor town, though there is also a small game center. The overall feel is that of a small bay with weather-worn wooden buildings around it. Look for the Amity Island Gifts with its Jaws and ocean-themed souvenirs. Young visitors might really enjoy getting their faces painted with intricate designs at Hollywood Movie Makeup.
For a cool snack, try Amity Ice Cream. Decorated like an old country store, it features many flavors of ice cream served at a counter in cups or bowls. Soft drinks and hot or cold coffee and tea area also available at this restaurant, which is open from noon to 6 pm during the summer. For a heartier lunch, check out Amity Landing which is open from 11 am to 3 pm. The menu is mostly fried food served baskets like you might find in a New England fishing village. The soft-shell crab sandwich set is recommended, as is the chicken and French fry basket. Round out the meal with a slice of apple pie or cool down with a refreshing beer before continuing on to other attractions.
