Rotating exhibits featuring artwork about Mt. Fuji, Lake Ashi, and Hakone are displayed in the small but tasteful Narukawa Art Museum. There is also a permanent exhibit of rare jade and ivory pieces from China. As well as the artwork, the museum has a panorama room with a 50-meter long (about 14 feet) window with breathtaking views of the surrounding area, including Mt. Fuji in good weather.
There is a lovely garden attached to the museum where guests are invited to linger and enjoy the views. The focus point is a 3,000 year old Japanese cedar tree. The museum is wheelchair accessible and has wheelchairs available if needed. There is also a gift shop and a café that serves sandwiches, desserts, and drinks.
Only a 3-minute walk from the Moto-Hakone-ko port, the Narukawa Art Museum is easy to reach. It costs 1200 for adults, 900 for university and high school students, 600 for elementary and junior high school students, and free for under five years old. It is open from 9 am to 5 pm.
