For a child who wants to play and burn off some energy, or just explore without waiting in lines, Ariel’s Playground in Mermaid Lagoon in DisneySea Tokyo is a perfect place to go. Large sea snails flank the entrance to the cave which is full of interesting interactive details like a ship’s wheel you can turn. Walk down passages lit by glowing jellyfish and search for the treasure-filled cave. There is a lot to see and do in this attraction, which includes many of the characters from the movie, The Little Mermaid.
Be sure to get a map from a staff member when you enter Ariel’s Playground. Written in both English and Japanese, it makes a good souvenir as well as ensuring that you won’t miss any of the rooms. Exploring the playground can take as much time as you want, so plan on a visit and stay as long as you like. There are some water features for the kids to have fun in which is a great place to cool down in on a hot humid day.
