Scuttle is the name of the seagull in the movie, The Little Mermaid. You can find him perched at the center of this carnival-style ride, watching over the action through his telescope. The ride itself is a short circular track with gently sloping rises and falls. Passengers ride brightly-colored hermit crabs, which rotate about halfway through and go backwards part of the time.
Scuttle’s Scooters are located in the outside section of Mermaid Lagoon at Tokyo DisneySea, and the lines tend to be fairly short. Two people can board each hermit crab. Children must be able to sit stably and can not ride in a parent’s lap. This is an excellent choice for younger children who can meet that boarding requirement because it is a smooth and predictable ride with cute details. No photos or videos are permitted on the ride, but parents can watch from the side and take photos, or join their children for the fun.
