Moored in New York Harbor of DisneySea at the American Waterfront you will find the SS Columbia. Inside of that is a clever interactive video show called Turtle Talk. The 12-minute show lets the audience ask questions and chat with a turtle named Crush, who speaks in Japanese, which might be a reason to move on to other attractions. Even if you do not speak Japanese, the details of the ship and the infectious humour of the show and the crowds reaction is worth a visit.
The setup for the show is excellent, and worth a visit if you have some extra time. The careful detailing of the ship continues throughout the entire waiting area, which is decorated with paintings of various sea life.
In keeping with the early 20th century theme, is a pre-show black and white movie about a new invention, the Hydrophone, that lets you speak with fish. Entering the theater, the screen looks like a ship’s window looking into the water, complete with a Hydrophone set up next to it, enabling the audience to communicate with the animated characters on the screen. 200 people can sit in the theater for each show.
