While strolling around the shops and restaurants of Mediterranean Harbor, you may see a gondola slowly drifting by, powered by two gondoliers with their long oars. Riding one is a fun experience for the whole family, and a leisurely way to see the bridges, beautiful ironwork, arcades, and buildings. The gondoliers will tell stories about the area in Japanese, but you don’t need to know the language to appreciate the scenery and friendly smiles.
The ride takes about eleven and a half minutes, with sixteen people per gondola. The boats move slowly so waiting lines can be long, but this is a good chance to be outside and relax, enjoying an age-old tradition that does not rely on high technology. There are no boarding restrictions, but the gondolas do not run when a show is being set up or performed in Mediterranean Harbor
