Across Mediterranean Harbor in Disney Sea from the main entrance, you will see a Spanish Galleon moored in front of a fortress bedecked with domes and mosaics. Be sure to take time to go around the harbor to check out Fortress Explorations, a walk-through attraction that you can enjoy at your own pace. This maze-like building is full of educational, interactive exhibits based on the experiments of Leonardo da Vinci and other famous scientists. Watch a pendulum, fire a cannon, operate an ornithopter, and crank the handles moving the solar system in the planetarium. The hands-on nature of the exhibits in this magical place makes learning fun for all ages.
Walk through Fortress Explorations as your own pace, taking time at exhibits that interest you. The building is rather maze-like, so be sure to pick up a map as you enter. Written in both English and Japanese, it makes a good souvenir of your visit. Because it is a bit off the beaten track and does not contain a ride, there are seldom lines to enter, though you may need to take turns operating some of the exhibits. Fortress Exploration is an excellent choice for everyone in the family to enjoy.
