The first theme area when you enter DisneySea is Mediterranean Harbor. Spread out around a large lagoon, the area feels open and accessible, even when there are large crowds. The area closest to the gate is decorated like an Italian sea port, complete with a Venetian Gondola ride and lovely bridges. Across the water there is a Spanish feel, with a Moorish fortress that holds a hands-on, walk-though attraction called Fortress Explorations.
Though there are only three attractions in this section of the park, there are plentiful other things to see and do. There are eight restaurants and fourteen stores. There is even an operational hotel, the MiraCosta. Many park services such as Information and Lost and Found are in Mediterranean Harbor.
DisneySea’s spectacular water shows, The Legend of Mythica and Fantasmic!, are both performed in boats on the water and can be viewed from all around the harbor. This is a busy area worth a stroll, and a good place to have a relaxing meal or pick up a few souvenirs.
