This 3D musical movie Captain EO in Tomorrowland starring Michael Jackson ran in the late 1980’s and early 90’s, but was replaced by other attractions. Disney reopened the movie in 2010 as a tribute to the singer after his death, though with some changes.
The 17-minute movie features Captain EO and his crew arriving on a planet with no light or sound. The Supreme Leader sentences them to terrible fates, but Captain EO sees the beauty hidden deep within her. His band struggles against the Supreme Leader and her minions using dance, music, and light.
The movie incorporates traditional 3D effects with ones considered “4D,” in an interactive theater with seats that shake with some of the scenes. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a blast of retro action. For younger children this may not be a good choice in shows, suggest a 8+ age range. The theater seats 369 people, and no photos or videos are permitted.
