Enter a Gothic brick mansion through a gate guarded by a gargoyle with glowing eyes and be ushered into a darkened room. There you will board your “Doom Buggy,” helped by the only staff members in Disneyland who do not smile. They set the stage for the somewhat scary 15-minute ride through various rooms of the Haunted Mansion. A piano plays by itself, there is a ghostly ball, and paintings that keep their eyes on you. Look out for ghouls in the graveyard and be careful, because the 999 ghosts and ghouls that live there would like for you to become number 1000!
The ride takes about 15 minutes, and there are no boarding restrictions, though flash photos are prohibited. Each buggy seats two people. The ride is recommended by Disneyland for small children, but use caution when deciding to enter because even though most of the ghosts are funny and friendly, the experience might be scary for imaginative youngsters.
You can use the FastPass to enter the Haunted Mansion, but check to see if there is a long line before doing so, because there is often not much of a wait. However, be aware that it is directly on the parade circuit, so it is almost impossible to get to if there is a parade happening
