The main shopping street leading from the entrance is called Main Street in other Disney Parks, and has the same feel of early Americana. However, it is roofed in with glass and a pretty dome to protect visitors from the weather which can be quite inclement at times, with intense rainstorms in the late spring and summer. Unfortunately this roof also traps sound, so the echos and noise can become deafening. The ground is intricately painted to look like sidewalks and curbs, but is all on one level, making it easier to get around when it is packed.
The best time to browse in this area is first thing in the morning, while other visitors are racing through to pick up FastPasses and beat the crowds to their favorite lines. Throughout the day, the area becomes packed. Not only do Japanese people want souvenirs for themselves, but it is considered obligatory to bring gifts to family and coworkers after a vacation, so small items fly from the shelves. There are also some good restaurants in World Bazaar, so you may consider this option for a more substantial meal.
