Museums and galleries
Singapore's museums range from small collections of indigenous heritage, to large, modern spaces which show off modern avant-garde art. One of the most experimental and exciting is the ArtScience Museum. ArtScience Museum
This museum is designed as a gigantic lotus flower, which appears to float on the water at Marina Bay. Inside, the vast exhibition spaces play host to touring exhibitions, showcasing everything from Da Vinci masterpieces to experimental performance art.

Yet another striking piece of architecture along Marina Bay, Esplanade is quite the showstopper – and that’s before you get inside. Parks and gardens
The line between city and jungle in Singapore is a lightly-sketched one, with lush greenery spilling into the urban spaces. In fact, it has so many green zones that it’s nicknamed the Garden City. The oldest is the orchid-filled Botanic Garden, while Marina Bay has its own lush foliage to explore. Gardens by the Bay
Pushing the boundaries of design, this sprawling area of reclaimed land features distinctive silvery "supertrees" – some of these man-made structures are 16 storeys high. Come in the evening too, when these futuristic structures release the solar energy they’ve been storing for an other-worldly light and sound show.
