You might be familiar with the saying, “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”, but at this Thai temple they’ve replaced the monkeys with miniature novice monks to get the message across. It’s just one more example of the Thai fondness for the narak or the cute which often crops up in venues and situations you might not expect. Whilst the interior of a Thai wat may be a more serious place, the temple grounds often serve as a community centre and it’s not unusual for the gardens be full of charming and welcoming touches like the mini-monks of Doi Suthep or the Donald Duck statue seen at another Chiang Mai temple.
