It was all smiles at the 37th annual Chiang Mai Flower Festival held over the course of last weekend. This was despite unseasonal weather disrupting preparations for many of those working on the floats and floral displays in the lead up to the event. A midweek storm surged through Chiang Mai last week with torrential rain and high winds bringing down power lines and trees. It was the last thing those working so hard ahead of the flower festival would have wanted, but the floats and displays still looked fantastic for the opening parade on Saturday morning which was blessed with fine weather. Although Saturday evening did see more heavy rain, the weekend has been hailed as a success by organisers and the large crowds who attended.
