It might not be a vehicle up to Starsky and Hutch standards, but who needs a Gran Torino when you’re on traffic duty? I took this photo of a police tuk-tuk close to the Sunday Walking Street Market in Chiang Mai. I can’t remember seeing these police tuk-tuks elsewhere in Thailand, but in Chiang Mai they can often be seen directing traffic or at crowded events like festivals and parades. Specially adapted with room in the back for traffic cones and signs, the tuk-tuks are liveried in the police colours of burgundy and white.
