Thaksin Shinawatra has vowed to continue his legal fight in the wake of the recent court ruling against him. Last week, Thailand’s Supreme Court seized over half of Thaksin’s assets, but the former Thai prime minister has said he will appeal the decision and also suggested he could take the case to the International Court of Justice.
Although it was billed as Judgement Day in the Thai media, Friday’s court case was only one of a number of cases still pending against Thaksin Shinawatra. Thailand still faces a turbulent political future and the next installment of the saga looks set to play out in the middle of March with the proposed anti-government red shirt rally.
