Breaking down Broadbeach for you
Nestled in amongst the heart of the Gold Coast is Broadbeach. Bursting with life and energy, it offers up a range of activities for both tourists and locals. Right on the beach and a hop, skip and a jump away from Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach is a central little point of the Gold Coast.
The iconic Kurrawa Beach is always alive with people. With Sunday morning nippers, beach volleyball nets and a broad walk that runs through the surrounding park, there is always plenty to see. You’ll often find many fitness classes being held in the park along with weekday yoga classes and leisurely bike rides. There are fitness stations dotted through it which are always fun to try out, and a playground which can entertain the kids for hours. Kurrawa Beach has also been a main host for the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships for a number of years.
Broadbeach Arts and Craft markets are held in the park on the first and third Sunday of every month and provides a lovely morning with fresh food and many stalls to look at. The Oasis Shopping Centre is across the road and peppered through the streets usually are many street performers and buskers. Some of the well known apartment buildings include The Wave, which received the 2006 Silver Emporis Skyscraper Award for its wave like structure, The Oracle, which are two luxury apartment buildings with a popular retail boulevard underneath, and Bel Air and Air on Broadbeach.
In the streets below the clustered buildings, cafes, bars and dining line the streets. Mario’s Italian Restaurant opened in 1989 and has been packed out since, with its traditional Italian food and dining experience, it’s easy to see why it’s loved. Cha Cha's is a popular Japanese restaurant, with cheap food and BYO it is always flooded with people on a Saturday night. The Bavarian Bier Cafe is great for either a meal or some drinks with friends, with a large outdoor dining area and a stylish interior, it is ideal for people-watching or the need-to-be-seen type, serving up its pure Bier in traditional style.
The nightlife in Broadbeach is always buzzing on a Saturday night. With clubs like Love, Platinum, East and Envy Hotel blasting their music, there is always a party to join. Dracula's is a fun and naughty cabaret and restaurant for anyone looking to do something different on their weekend, and is less than 5 minutes away from the hub of Broadbeach. The Gold Coast Convention Centre is situated across the road from the main streets of Broadbeach and always has something worth seeing. Jupiter’s Hotel and Casino is also within the 5 minute mark and offers a range of facilities and activities, with live shows, nightlife, clubs and gambling to spice up your night.
With so much to do, it is easy to see why Broadbeach is a central piece of clockwork to the Gold Coast.
