Situated in the heart of Canberra, wandering along the pathways that circle this large and lovely lake is a rewarding experience. A number of attractions can be found here such as Blundell's Cottage and Captain Cook Memorial Jet.
Located to the south of Lake Burley Griffin, the National Library of Australia contains a collection of more than five million books. Bookworms will want to visit on Thursdays, when a special complimentary guided tour is conducted.
This magnificent building was the government seat from 1927 to 1988 and is an important attraction for anyone with an interest in politics. The Old Parliament House can be reached on foot from the city center and serves as a public museum to preserve Australia's political past.
Located in a picturesque nature reserve, visitors will want to climb this tall tower to see stunning views across Canberra. To get here, simply hop on bus number 81 and get off at stop C.
