Going from island to island in the South Pacific is best done by plane, and there are plenty of flights from Sydney to Bali to choose from. Flights from Sydney to Denpasar (the capital of Bali) run 2 to 3 times per day, depending on the day of the week, on either Jetstar, Virgin Australia or Garuda Indonesia. This route will run about 6 hours and 40 minutes from Sydney (4623 kilometers), but the shortest route from Australia would be from Darwin.
