Wisdom, 52 Mitchell Street-
Ever wondered what to call a restaurant built in what used to be the town dental clinic?
Aside from the strange previous property usage, this place is fantastic. A mostly open air restaurant/bar built under the gracious branches of a massive tree. The entire place is virtually outdoors, or open to the outdoors, with comfy lounges, tables under the tree and a few along the sidewalk. Perfect to people watch, the décor is blue and white, modern with a waterfall and good sound system. The menu has imaginative mains, typical grills, and unbelievable salads.
I tried the marinated calamari and bacon salad. Suitable for Coeliacs- It was phenomenal. The bar staff was accommodating and they had a nice wine list. The chefs were very good at double checking to make sure the salad would be gluten free and were happy to cater for other food intolerances. Typical Restraunt prices- open 3 meals- $7.50- $30. They were one of the few places open early enough for an early brekkie (Aussie for breakfast) and late enough to boogie the night away. I guess Wisdom sounded better than say- Molar or Bi-Cuspid. There wasn’t a dentist chair in sight just good tunes, cold beverages, and tasty food.
