Paris, known as 'The City of Light', is like a Pandora's Box full of exciting culture, architecture, monuments, museums, shops, music and much more. Above all, Paris is known as the city of love and magic.

hen you visit the French capital, there are definitely some things you really have to see and experience. The Eiffel Tower is of course at the top of the list - to miss a trip up to the top would be unthinkable! On a good day, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Paris for over 40 miles and in the evening you can sit back and enjoy the brilliance of its illuminations, where for five minutes every hour it is lit up by 20,000 light bulbs.

Next on your list should be getting lost in the Louvre , one of the most marvellous museums in Paris. This building contains a vast spectrum of rarities from unmissable civilizations and is indeed worth braving gallery fatigue for. It's perfect for history lovers or anyone who appreciates the value of knowledge. If you're still thirsty for more, then the breathtaking architecture of Notre Dame cathedral, particularly as you climb from the north tower to the south tower, will leave you in awe. Gaze across Paris and see gallery of Chimeras, full of fantastic birds and beasts gazing over the balustrade.

If history is your fetish, there are many staggeringly beautiful pieces of work to discover as you venture around Paris, including the Catacombs and the Palace of Versailles. The latter is one of the most sumptuously clad chateaus in the world, the highlight of which is the dazzling Great Hall of Mirrors, which has 357 mirrors in total encasing the room. You can also enjoy a stroll around the acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, which are filled with music that the fountains dance along to.

Once you have seen the beauty of historic Paris, it is time to see what the shops have to offer - they are diverse, select and authoritatively fashionable! The department stores in Paris have row upon row of boutiques and are guaranteed to seduce you into parting with your hard earned money. Getting away from the glitz and glamour of the main shopping areas is also as seductive; the quarter south of St Germain des Prés is littered with vintage fashion boutiques, patisseries, antiquarian bookshops and historic buildings - a chance to see a bit of everything in one place! Nestled amongst these quaint little shops you will also find the Eglise St Sulpice, which played an important role in the famous novel and film 'The Da Vinci Code'. If you fancy a shopping experience with a bit of a difference, then a visit to one of Paris' curious yet creative flea markets is a must!

After an exhausting day around the shops, kick back and enjoy an evening of legendary jazz in one of Paris' traditional clubs such as the Caveau de la Huchette; a medieval cellar that has been a mainstay on the jazz scene for sixty years. If that doesn't take your fancy, enjoy an evening of frivolous and flamboyant cabaret with men and women cavorting in faultless synchronisation at the world-famous Moulin Rouge. If the bright lights and music sound too energetic for you, you can always relax and catch a film at La Cinémathèque Française.

Although Paris is breathtakingly beautiful and fantastically romantic, the 'City of Light' would not be complete without the enchantment of Disneyland. The Magical Kingdom, a place where you can wish upon a star and watch your dreams come true, is brimming full with everyone's favourite Disney heroes and heroines, who live once upon a time in a fairy tale that is happily never ending!

Disneyland Paris is one of the most special places to visit in Paris. From Discoveryland and Fantasyland to Adventureland and Frontierland, you'll find everything you need for a trip full of fun, magic and laughter. No matter where you visit first, all of your favourite Disney characters are waiting to meet you and your family. They'll even give you an autograph, have a photo taken with you and finish it all off with a big hug! As well as all these much loved characters there is Disneyland's Mainstreet, where the main magical events take place. Guests can enjoy family parades, shows, music and lighting all year round, silhouetted by the staggeringly beautiful backdrop of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

There are endless attractions, themed hotels, rides and much more in all shapes and sizes to entertain, amuse and totally captivate guests into the magic that is Disney. It doesn't matter what age you are - Disneyland is a mesmerising experience that should not be missed if you are visiting Paris, at any time of the year. On special dates, such as Halloween and Christmas, they put on extra special shows and parades to celebrate the occasion. Not only do they create themed events, they also entice you by decorating the parks to match the holiday theme - at Halloween there are pumpkins, cobwebs and more, and at Christmas you can enjoy snow and, of course, Santa.

When you visit Paris there is so much to see and do - from soaking up the culture and architecture to discovering Sartre, Picasso and Dior. That's not forgetting a night of entertainment at the Moulin Rouge or a jazz club. All are amazing ways to spend your break in 'fair Paris', but nothing beats a trip to magical Disneyland. It won't just be the kids having the time of their life - you will too!
